Harssh is an Oxford-educated lawyer and Chevening scholar who joined the Indian Police Service (IPS) in 2013. Through the course of his career in the IPS, he has served in some of the most challenging jurisdictions of India. His initiatives on youth deradicalisation, police station reform, counter-misinformation and the handling of elections have received national acclaim and have led him to being rated among the ten most impactful civil servants of India.
The work done by his team in pandemic management has also been published as a case study by the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India. He has authored a book on the law relating to investment frauds.
He has several international achievements to his credit in competitive debating and is also a keen horseman and exponent of Indian classical music.
